Our phantom summer

Yes, it does look a bit ghostly…
It was very ghostly early this morning. Our summer here so far feels a bit phantom-like- we just think we have summer and then it slips through our fingers to grey, cloudy, windy again….
We’re waiting for rain up here
I could send some your way today. We needed it with the high winds sucking moisture from the soil more quickly than we could replenish it.
That looks eerie – and quite familiar! Is it fog or sea mist? Or drizzle?
Hmmm I think we share a lot of “weather” with Scotland Jo. We are not far above sea level here so we don’t get this low cloud swirling around us very often but this “summer” it has been around a lot. There was light drizzle falling too when I took this photo.
We have had a week of hot sun, seeking the shade to keep cool, and having to water the plants!
I am delighted to hear that someone is having summer weather! Today it has rained and rained so our plants are soaking that up. The wind sucks out so much moisture and stresses the plants.
We’ve had many days of hot sun also, and would welcome some of your drizzle.
I could send you rain today Ruth. Our garden has been dried out so much from the winds but today the rain has soaked in nicely.
And we’ve got rain this morning. The plants are sooo happy.
Great news Ruth. All those fires down in your part of the country have been another concern. More heavy rain has just begun here today.
