I feel I shouldn’t spoil the magic of Wordless Wednesday with a comment but there’s something special about the combination of colours in your photos and I thank you for the treat for my eyes and my soul.
I really appreciate your words and I am very pleased that you have enjoyed my photos. The “Butterfly bush” held a couple of treasures this morning. And I think, but I am not sure, that these bushes are deemed to be pest plants now.
Sadly they are.
I had a feeling that my memory was correct…..this very large bush is on reserve land at the top of a walkway that is cared for by the city council. It think there is less attention given to our parks and reserves now with budgets being so very tight.
Interestingly it is not a pest in Australia. I have read several Australian garden articles on it. Maybe pest is too strong a word. It is definitely unwanted or discouraged here.
Lovely pics, Lyn. Is that a monarch butterfly?
Thanks Jo. The light was kind to me this morning. We had cloud cover for part of the morning in a complete turnaround from the clear blue skies we have grown accustomed to this summer.
Yes it is a monarch butterfly. Somewhat camera shy unfortunately.
Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder…
— Henry David Thoreau
Lovely quote. Thanks Diana.
