A rare sighting

I was overjoyed to see a large bee harvesting pollen from one of our roses this afternoon. Honey bees are a rare sight in our garden now after the Varroa mite decimated hives in New Zealand.
I hope the population can regenerate strongly. We need our honey bees.

Thanks for posting a comment. Bees are critical to our lives here on earth. We used to have big numbers in our garden but not any more. I hope to see more….

I hope the mites are no longer destroying the hives and we see lots of friendly bees around again.
