The Pohutukawas are flowering beautifully right now. They are known as the New Zealand Christmas Tree because they flower around Christmas time. It looks as if this year will be a bumper flowering.
Do you believe in magic? Do you see nature reflecting man-made inventions back to us?
Such stunning trees, aren’t they?
They are stunning trees Marianne, especially when they are flowering. This year seems to be a really good flowering season.
Beautiful photo Lynley. They are certainly gorgeous this year. You capture the detail really well.
Thanks Juliet. The macro shows up the loveliness of the flowers to great effect.
That is one of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. Does it grow in your garden?
Thanks Judy. The trees grow all around us here and throughout a large part of New Zealand but we don’t have one in our garden. They line our streets here and that is where I took this photo.
