We are experiencing a lovely spell of weather currently. It is a total surprise to us as July is normally a truly winter month. This one has had so many warmer days that spring is arriving early at the moment. With the clear, calm weather we have been having lovely sky both morning and night.
Last evening someone had the ruler out and had drawn lines in the western sky.

Isn’t it a treat to have this warmer weather. The skies must be so calm to have such straight lines of clouds.
It is a treat Juliet but oh so foreign to us here in Wellington where July is usually a month for indoor pursuits. I had not thought about the skies being calm in order to maintain such straight lines but you are right. The calm is reaching high into the atmosphere right now:-)
I don’t believe I have ever seen such straight cloud lines as these. Interesting isn’t it? Calm above and mayhem underground!
Yes they were interesting. The GNS website shows the earth still moving about but the magnitude seems to be reducing. Fingers crossed.
