This young Mallard duck was having a good feed from beneath the water of the lake on Friday. I loved the way the water flicked off his feathers but also the remarkably beautiful details, speckles and dapples of his changing plumage.
Thanks Juliet. He was very busy searching for food beneath the surface of the lake.
I was over the moon with my Tui photo on the banner. The Tui land in the Melia tree and bungee drop into the Bottle Brush bush below. It is very funny to observe and this bird was thinking about the jump, looked at me and leapt. Every so often magic happens with a camera:-))
They are so attractive, aren’t they?
I was very struck by his gorgeous feathers and all they displayed to my eye.
Love the way you captured the disappearing head. And that’s an amazing puffed up tui photo on your banner.
