Thanks! I was thrilled with this photo this morning. The Tui love the Magnolia which I can stand directly beneath. The tree is near the sugar water feeders and I’ve spent months quietly talking and whistling to the Tuis. I’d like to think it is trust and familiarity but I cannot be sure. I did use the zoom on the camera and just got it right today – something of a miracle!!!
The light was magic this morning and such a glorious day – another one and so warm in the afternoon. I hope you are OK after the big earthquake today – it was long, rolling and shuddering but only at times. I replenished all our emergency water supplies today after yesterday’s quakes – I missed both of those thank goodness.
That’s a good shot. How do you get so close? Usually they all flee from me.

beautiful…
Gorgeous; the sheen on the feathers, the gold light in the background, the light on the leaves. 🙂

OG, I didn’t feel them, thank goodness. But it sounds as though it was a real rattler for Wellington. Hope it’s a quiet night.
I am really pleased you missed them! Yes calm now would be very good.
