I read that book too:D I didn’t realise that the first book was written in 1872! I don’t have the heart to move katydids on even though they love to eat holes in my rose buds and roses.
I had no idea they ate plants like that, I thought they were good guys! .I don’t know what Katy got up to, I haven’t read any of those books though they were certainly around when I was a kid.
I have really only noticed the nibbles on roses – buds particularly. We didn’t have many NZ based kids books back in my day and I loved the Katy books – they come to mind when I hear the Katydids in the evening.
Your rose petals must be very tasty. 🙂
Extra juicy this year after I have fed and fed this rose. It had not been doing very well but lots of good food and it has really produced……and now to feed the gorgeous Katydids!
