Another hardy Pansy has popped its velvety face to the light today after keeping safe through the past week’s snow, sleet, hail, rain, bitter temperatures and howling winds.
Gentle rain fell here overnight and in the still conditions, post storm, the raindrops clung like diamonds to velvet.
I love pansies, and have one clump where the flowers have survived this week’s frosts.
They are cheerful flowers Ruth and seem to be very resilient. The conditions have been demanding to say the least. Here’s to a bit of warmth ahead this week!
Gorgeous, Lyn! Love those raindrops.
We have been well washed as perhaps you have been too? Purdey seemed to be sleeping on the rain gear on FB!!
Yes, it’s been an ‘interrupted’ summer so far! Purdey has the right idea.
That is disappointing about the summer so far for you. We needed Purdey’s fur coat here this past week. Winter has really turned up.
Oh, very elegant. Love the colour of the pansy.
Lovely colours and so brave to pop up in this bitter cold.
Indeed.
I hope the frost this morning did not reach the planter these pansies are in. We don’t get many frosts here but it was a good one this morning.
It was a beaut here too. By the way, I have just been on your Felt site to ask about handwarmers. 😉 No pressure if you are not feeling like knitting any.
Thanks. I have replied via Felt:-)
Never ceases to amaze me how much these flowers enjoy winter! Lovely pics
They are triumphantly hardy aren’t they? How are your white ones doing?
Very well given the rotten weather we have been having ..
It sounds miserably wet up your way. We are well soaked here too and are currently awaiting the BIG southerly to blow in, bringing more rain and bitter cold. Can we hope the aphids are being dealt to this winter?
