Today i’ve hosted a River of Flowers site for the earthquake commemoration. In my brief speech I acknowledged those affected by fires – it seems so unfair that our city should be suffering again.

Yes, they were distant from me. Also I was away in Australia at the time; checking up on my parents. 🙂
Avoiding more anguish in ChCh was a good thing and going to visit your parents was even better.
